The Belgian Tervuren is a striking, intelligent, and energetic herding dog known for its elegance, versatility, and strong bond with family. Belgian Tervurens were developed in Belgium to herd livestock and serve as vigilant working dogs, and today they continue to excel in obedience, agility, tracking, and canine sports while also thriving as devoted companions.
Belgian Tervurens are typically medium‑large in size, with adult males standing around 24–26 inches tall and females slightly smaller.
